Vizio announced Tuesday that it is now both producing and sponsoring a new TV show on Fox Sports Net, called “Vizio Profiles.” The 30-minute weekly show, which will air Fridays at 11 p.m., will profile different NFL stars each week.
The first episode, debuting Oct. 2, will profile Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Subjects of future episodes include Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, Bears running back Brian Urlacher, Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, and Chargers running back LaDanian Tomlinson, a longtime endorser of Vizio products.
Vizio, which co-owns the show, will show the episodes on Vizio.com, after they air on Fox Sports.
“The proliferation of DVRs is forcing every company to reevaluate how it spends its media dollars,” the company’s director of marketing, Jason Maciel, said as part of the announcement. “Vizio’s Profiles represents a shift for us to move beyond traditional media buys to the development and ownership of branded content.”
